When I think of Katie I can not help but smile. The times we shared I hold close to me. One of my most treasured memories of Katie was when I was walking down the hallway at the Bolka's house late at night. Katie called me into her room; she was wearing her robe and glasses, and was sitting Indian style on her bed. She asked me if I would go outside with her to watch a meteor shower. I, of course, said yes and we laid down and looked up in the sky. Katie was convinced that she saw the meteor shower, but I convinced her that it was only a plane going by.
Katie's presence caused me to feel radiant inside. I loved her sense of humor and always admired her relationship with Nina. I can only hope that my sister and I will become as close as they were. I always admired Katie for her art. Whenever Nina and I would go into her room, I would quickly glance around eager to catch a glimpse of something she was working on. To me, Katie is far from gone. I think of her every time I go into the art room, and I see her in Nina more than ever.
