Katie was one of my greatest friends going through Christ
the King, as well as going through Ursuline. I was blessed to have
spent so much time with her, whether it was sleepovers on the weekends
or soccer/basketball games and practices. Anytime we were together, we
would always have so much fun. We would laugh together, cry together,
and play crazy games.
One of my favorite memories of Katie is when we
had a sleepover at my house. We got up the next morning, which just
happened to be April Fools Day, and we went roller-blading across the
alley at St. Monica. Katie hit a crack on the ground with one of her
skates and fell forward, causing her to sprain or break her wrist. We
went back to the house and called Mrs. Bolka, but she didn't believe
it because it was April Fools Day. Luckily, Mrs. Bolka came to the
rescue. Katie was such a good sport about the entire thing.
Another
great memory I have of Katie is when we went to Oklahoma to stay with
Grandpa Ed and Grandma Kay. We were there for a week and it was my
first big trip with a friend. Mrs. Bolka drove us there and we relaxed
all week by the pool and visited great places in Oklahoma. It was some
good "Katie and Evan" time. And lastly, I remember all the fun
basketball games with our dad's coaching us. Katie and I were never
the best at basketball, but we always managed to make the best of it.
I will never forget Katie, mostly because she was one of my best
friends throughout my childhood. She always managed to make me laugh
in tough situations and was always there for me when I needed her
during petty junior high drama. There hasn't been a day yet where I
haven't thought of Katie, and I don't see one in the future. Every
time I get into my car, I look at her picture on my dashboard and I
pray that she will bless me when I am out driving. I will never forget
you, Katie.
